Exactly why sport is so healthy
Fitness training has an advantageous effect on organs!
Hearth / Circulation:
- Increases the hearth muscle
- Improves the cardiac output
- Improved oxygen intake
- Lowers resting pulse
- Lowers blood pressure where it is elevated
- Arteriosclerosis decreases
Muscle metabolism:
- Increases mitochondria in the energy power plant of the cells
- Improves efficiency of the enzymes in the mitochondria
- Increases the glycogen-storage ( a fast energy reserve).
Blood:
- More red blood cells and haemoglobin ( red colouring in blood cells)
- Increase in blood-plasma /-volume
- Improved puffer capacity in acidity.
Lungs:
- Deeper breathing, good AD ( autogenous drainage / breathing technique)
- Increased minute volume ( more inhaled air per minute)
- Increased vital capacity ( better lung volume).
Connective and supporting tissue:
- The connective tissue becomes firmer
- The skin turns firmer
- The bone density increases, therefor the risk of osteoporosis decreases.
Hormones: Testosterone and growth hormone STH is stimulated, with all the related effects:
- They function as 'Happy' hormones, increase the libido
- The immune system is strengthened
- Self confidence increases
- Cell-communication increases, the fine-material level improves
What is the essential of sport?
'Comfortable' sport is the most important factor, not hectic, don't go to the limit of condition. Otherwise the positive effects are turned around!
Negative effects of exaggerated training:
- Bad AD
- Breathing too forced, coughing, blood in sputum
- Narrowing of the bronchi, bad oxygen supply
- Weakening of the immune system
- Increased manufacture of aggressive radicals, damage to tissue
- Acidity of the body due to anaerobe energy production ( lactate overproduction): in oxygen deficiency, the muscle burns muscle energy anaerobic, so without oxygen with negative consequences
- Overworking the heart, worst case being a heart attack
- Damage to connective and supportive tissue and other...
Summary: By training in well managed doses, it is possible to achieve optimal physical condition even with limited oxygen supply.
